I really didn’t expect to find 13 foot ceilings in this house! But they knew how to build houses in the South back in the day. When you don’t have A/C, you have to have high ceilings so the heat rises and the floor area stays cool. I absolutely love the floors in this house. They are so deep and dark. Such character! It expands up to the walls as well with the paneling. They really leaned into that warmth. Love it!
